Vito Technology makes major update to Star Walk - 5 Star ...

Vito Technology has updated one of their two flagship Astronomy apps, Star Walk, with a significant update this morning. ?The new 6.0 version brings a completely rebuilt information section that has a new layout and revised information. ?That new information includes things like short facts, a new image gallery, overview note(s), orbital and physical characteristics, magnitude and elevation and planetary structure.

Other improvements in this version include a new gallery for Picture of the Day which has a cleaner and simpler layout with iPhoto-like folders both from ESA (European Space Agency) and ESO (European Southern Observatory). ?Sharing is alsoStar Walk for iPad introduced with the ability to share to Facebook, Twitter, Email and the ability to print or save what you are viewing to your Camera Roll.

Star Walk is also compatible with AirPlay so you can wirelessly display the app via your AppleTV to a HDTV display. ?This is a?huge feature for educators as the can show planets, stars and other heavenly bodies in real time thanks to the augmented reality of Star Walk on a large screen, saving having to crowd around the iPad or iPhone itself.

Star Walk is in my opinion the best Astronomy app in the App Store today. ?It is great for both learning and teaching and even for the casual stargazer, it provides a depth of knowledge at your fingertips.

Star Walk for iPhone is $2.99 and Star Walk for iPad is $4.99.
